I know that the past few years have been challenging for families 
in our area. First the one in a generation pandemic 
then the war in Ukraine 
- has resulted in a cost of living crisis, rising inflation 
and a massive increase in energy bills 
.
Every step of the way, we have been doing all we can to help. From saving peoples jobs 
during the pandemic to helping pay part of people's energy bills 
and shielding the most vulnerable in our community from price rises – we are taking action to help.
Thanks to our relentless focus on the economy, inflation has been more than halved 
and the economy has outperformed all expectations. This month, energy bills are falling 
, National Insurance will be 𝐜𝐮𝐭 
by another 𝟐%, the National Living Wage 
is 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 £𝟏𝟏 𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫 and the State Pension 
is going up by 𝟖.𝟓%.
